The Ravenna Fabric Sofa is elegant, classy and ideal for the discerning professional. It is a great old classic that stands the test of time with flying colours. The short arms and deep seat makes it great to stretch out on and to share with family and loved ones. Our standard product has a cushion seat but they can be made with buttoned seat and/or fixed back.
The history: The Ravenna Sofa name is taken from Ravenna, a city and commune in the Emilia-Romagna region of Italy. An inland city which is connected to the Adriatic Sea by canal, Ravenna was once the seat of the Western Roman Empire and the Kingdom of the Ostrogoths and the Exarchate of Ravenna. It is the second-largest commune in land area in Italy, Rome being the largest.
The standard sizes for The Ravenna Sofa are 2 seater, 2.5 seater, 3 seater and a 3.5 seater. We can, however, tailor them to your own requirements. So whether you want the Ravenna Sofa smaller, or larger, with a bold coloured fabric to make a statement or where you want a more conservative look, we can easily accommodate you.
The manufacturing:
The Ravenna Sofa is handcrafted in England by Master Craftsmen with decades of experience in high quality furniture manufacturing using traditional materials and methods.
Every piece is made to order and double checked to make sure that your furniture serves you for years to come.
During the manufacturing we only use the highest quality solid beech hardwood frames. All our furniture joints are dowelled and glued. Stress points are also screwed to ensure durability. The seat platforms are steel sprung or webbed with high-tension webbing.
Where cushions are used, they are filled with either memory foam or reflex fibre although other options like feather are also available according to your personal needs and for optimum comfort.
Covering materials: It can be covered in fabric, leather, waterproof materials or customer own materials. We’ve listed our suggested materials here but you can request any fabric or leather samples you want. You can also supply your own.
Bespoke services: We offer fully bespoke service. You have complete freedom in terms of the style, the sizes and covering materials.
